« on: June 23, 2023, 10:20:59 PM »
Iv got 2 fruiting pitangatubas and not 100% sure what one is a normal pitangatuba. The fruit "stem" is way longer on one than the other, not sure if this is common or not or maybe ones a hybrid of something?

82
If you guys pay the shipping ill import them for you.

O man u can root the dwarf orange!!!! I just grafted up a few  like 2 months ago. Did you do anything special rooting it?

I had my plant outside until the first frost but before I bought it inside I needed to prune a small branch. With no rootstock available I figured might as well try rooting it instead of throwing it out. So I trimmed the growing tip off and most of the leaves then let it all heal for about a week before taking the around 7 inch cutting. Dipped it in some regular rooting hormone powder and placed that end a few inches down in 100% damp sphagnum moss in a tree pot. Then put a clear plastic bag over it to keep the humidity consistent. It was in my grow tent so temps fluctuated around 68 night to 82 day.
I like the idea of letting the scion heal up before you remove it thats such a good idea iv overlooked! Iv got a real low (small) branch that im going to give this a shot on. Thanks dave!

Looks like scale. Do they move or are they connected to the stem/leaves?

I seen some 1 gal at hd last year about 16~inches tall, they were gettin about 25 for em. Hd has the most "exotic" plants around me hahaha no joke (i live in hell). I might end up grabbin 2 and grafting thoes . Ok so now just to look up the suggested ones, pick a few , get to hd , find the scions , graft the scions ,cross my fingers and bam done haha! Looking to add a pineapple guava to the collection and not sure what variety (s) to grow. I have room for 1-2 trees hoping someone can chime in on what ones are worth growing and what ones are over hyped , due to my limited space id rather not find out on my own haha. Thanks!
