Cold Hardy Citrus / Re: Mystery citrus seedling trait
« on: April 01, 2022, 03:10:42 PM »
Update, had a very early spring and are growing fast. One out of them all seems to be the most vigorous. Seedling pot of Citrus ichangensis, N1Tri, and Ichangstar60.

Got seeds early this year and decided to germinate them. All showing different characteristics so definitely not pure glauca. Will see how they fare this upcoming winter.

Dragon Lime, appears to be monofoliate as it gets older, mine is young and is trifoliate:

I have them both but they are young. Dragon Lime is like flying dragon with contorted twisted branches and Carolina Line is mostly unifoliate based off my plant, which I got from Stan. It was recently grafted and is a small plant and so far it has fared well this winter. Of course, no fruit on them yet.

All of them have to be derived from citrons, especially the 1st and 2nd one. 2nd might be a regular citron but idk the exact names

Cold Hardy Citrus / Re: Tricimequat
« on: January 11, 2022, 11:59:39 PM »
I messaged the seller a few weeks ago about pictures and he said his plant is mostly singled leaves and has some bifoliate and trifoliate leaves. Hybrids with procimequat is possible as there is also a Citsumaquat.

It is the seeds that are tricimequat. On ebay a seller recently was selling the seeds and was selling them back in 2019.

Yeah you're right mikkel, ichang papeda hybrids are vigorous. One of my N1Tri/Ichangstar F2 grew about a foot since planting them in February of this year.

Cold Hardy Citrus / Re: new thoughts on breeding hardier citrus

Ichang Papeda is not as readily available in the US as in europe. And most of the time when it is offered it is a hybrid seedling so it has other ancestry other than ichang papeda.

I wouldn`t care. as long as these are vigorous plants and still quite cold hardy.
Yeah they'll be vigorous till you get the seeds and found out that it has lemon as the pollen donor... how hardy is that?
