Hell yeah, ask for a refund. Poorly packed is their fault. If you kill it because you made a mistake that is your fault. If they don't refund you let the forum know so those of us who care don't buy from them.

What's the name of the nursery?

I've got blooms forming in the greenhouse but it is way too cold outside to move the plants. What's the forum recommendation? Pick the blooms and hope for a second flourish in spring or what? I have the same problem with my white sapotes.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Your favorite South Florida Nursery

Define decent ;). I'm just asking because I bought from them for 15 years and I thought that the issues I had were me. I'm not hoping to ruin these people's business at all. I finally figured out that I had to spray the hell out of everything I bought from them for scale and fungus and definitely change the soil. Nothing I have bought from A Natural farm has had those problems. Nothing from Pokey's has had those problems. None of the stuff I got from Florida Nursery Mart had those problems. None of the stuff that I brought back from Cali or Phoenix have had those problems. The list could go on. I want to support them but they have to tighten up. They have to tighten up. They used have everything and now not so much. It's like Pine Island Nursery. Years ago, if it was on their website,  they had it. Now it's very hit or miss.  Pro-tip if you are vendor and you see this. Customers hate having their time wasted. If it ain't in stock don't have it on your site or have it listed as "not in stock". Just Fruits and Exotics does a great job of that. I will definitely buy from them again.

BTW I love this FORUM!!!!!!

Lara Farms! I will be back. I need more caimitos and a red cherimoya.

How long does it take to produce tubers or seeds?

Thanks for the advice. I will give it a try.

Man that is a tragedy. I have never seen any thing like it. Too bad that you didn't have a tree available to graft some scions on too. Is it possible to get another tree? My are all in pots and never subjected to those sort of wind stresses.

Do you have a suggestion of what type of soil mix to use? Maybe a particular brand of potting soil?

There could be several reasons why that happened. You should check the soil to see if it is well draining and aerated. If the plant has been in that pot for several years, it could be in the soil.
The soil is mostly peat and perlite with some vermiculite and some toposil

My 8-10 yr old 6 ft Jaboticaba defoliated last spring and the leaves have not grown back. It is still green under the bark. Does anybody have any ideas what I should do?

Looks like the pitombas on my tree. Eugenia luschnathiana. Mine had a funky resin flavor and were sour. I let them die.  :-\
I may or may not tru pitomba again since they fruit fast but they seemed to be a disappointment for me like pitangatuba and surinam cherries I have purchased. They were low producers and I didn't like the fact that they were sour.

Bummer. They cleft graft pretty easy. I have a few with scions from FL.

Is this an all zones recommendation? I just got the last of my fruits off the tree.  Won't it stimulate new growth that will just get damaged in the next 2 months?

Let me know If you find one. I am on the border of 7a/7b. I can fruit them in the greenhouse. The problem is I have no bees.

Does it hybridize with other vacciniums?

Not easier but what I use is a food mill. That doesn't break up the seed like a food processor.

I'm about to make an order from Madison Citrus Nursery. Does anybody know about or have experience with Moro x Tarocco Blood Orange? I'm also getting a Lakeland limequat and harvey lemon.

Anyone has any lucky grafting wax jambu? I'm going to graft some more variety of my Black Diamond & and Red Rocket.
Here's a guy doing it

My question is why don't the get eradicated if it is a noxious plant? Is there some benefit?

They can kiss my.....HAHAHAHAHA ;) Those rascals say they are out of stock on website. I'm not paying $100 for a 3 gal especially not a Cali style 3 gal. I will be in Phoenix Saturday. I might hit San Diego. Anybody have an idea where the wax apples are in that area. There is a Mimosa that I visited in Rosemead. It was kinda crazy. There was some old codger there and he was talking shit and he acted like he didn't give a shit ;D. I got a good laugh out of it. The plants didn't look that good though. I wouldn't mind the ride if I can score some nice plants.
Highway Robbery!!! (if you are foolish enough to buy). :-[
