Big Jim Loquat -- any Florida nurseries that have it?

I have wild or seedling loquats near me I can forage that are landscape plantings at a condominium complex.  But it would be nice to have a larger variety at home. Thanks!

Jim Neitzel, considered by many to be the dean of San Diego County rare fruit growers. This man bred and came up with this large loquat named after him.

You can see how large it is compared to a USA quarter. The feral ones I can get are the size of a quarter or a bit more.

Even wild loquats can be made to produce big fruit through thinning. Good cultivars when thinned can produce giant fruits. This page has some photos and info on how to thin loquats:

Very informative link. I could thin out the fruits on those "public" landscaping trees. They would produce larger loquats but then someone would grab them before me due to me  enhancing the fruit's attractiveness

As Xeno pointed out in another thread, hardly anybody in general public knows that loquats are edible. Usually they're laying all over the ground.

I've heard of the Japanese thinning to 1 per bunch and putting custom 'socks' on each one for protection. Each fruit comes in a decorative paper box.

Japanese growers do go to great lengths to grow their loquats as the fruits fetch a very high price. Loquat is a highly coveted fruit in Japan.
