Indoor grow room thrip control
« on: June 28, 2022, 09:34:35 PM »
After months of fighting iv finally found a good way to get rid of thrips without any chemicals. Lady bugs and yellow sticky traps. I let loose 1500 lady bugs into my 5x5 grow room, i know it sounds like alot but they thin out quick after the big feast ,they dont eat any leafy material only thrips and other bad insects. The yellow sticky traps helped catch the thrips that started flying and didnt attract any lady bugs luckily. I run led lights with no problems of lady bugs grouping up around the light/heat. After a few days i noticed clean flushes and no more squiggles on new leaves. I will more than likely keep adding more lady bugs to keep all the insects in check! They will also eat scale bugs before they harden there is another lady beetle that will eat hard scale if anyone is interested its called Lindorus lophanthae. Iv tried green lacewings too for thrips with not great luck lady bugs are my goto! Hope this helps someone save some plants!
