Have you contacted Alex Silber at Papaya Tree Nursery? No clue if they ship but you could always consult, their catalog has the "   Arcadian - Large Sweet Cultivar" that is supposed to be the described Silber cultivar (to my understanding?)

Best of luck on the search.

Yeah, I talked to him. That was two years ago. He basically said he didn't know when he would have it in stock.

5 years! That aint nothing, I am on dooble digits, hehe.
They don’t really exist though.
Maybe 1 someone has them , under lock and key, at the most expensive west coast nursery I have seen. So he basically said , “ yeah , whatever” .
Exotica has male/female mature bushes though. Not that that helps you at all.

Tropical Apricot is Dovyalis Hebecarpa, Kei Apple is Dovyalis caffra.
Neither taste like apricot or apple .
It would be easier to  take the temperate fruit common names and leave them on the temperate fruits they originated on.
I’d bet all the fruits that got labeled apple or apricot by the first tourist/ non local that found it, already had a perfectly good and less confusing name.

When I talked with silber, he was annoyed that others were selling his kei apple. However, he didn’t want to sell me one. I don’t think the other nurseries are cutting into his profits! He also refuses to ship.

Marta Matvienko here in the Bay Area planted out several of these, and got one sweet female. She offers it on her website, among many other great scions: https://reallygoodplants.com/

My trees from exotica took 7 years to fruit. Bumper crop this year. Very good fruit. I have no reason to think its not silber as advertised. Any new tree you get will just be starting over.
