Please read my original post I edited today. I had a typo in the combo pricing so if anyone purchased that option, you will have $3 credit for anything you buy from me in the future. Just remind me when you make another buy..

FYI, -> These cuttings should only be grafted. They will not root from cuttings, so if you try to root it, it is at your own risk since it will most likely all fail.

Combo still available now.

You might get a little better chance for success with Red Himalayan (10%) but not much.
With White Pakistan/Australian Green, I had 0% success. When you root mulberries you need a longer cutting (8"-16"). These cuttings I'm selling are only 6"-8" long.

Best to just graft them, much more chance for success.

Interesting insight of using longer cutting to root mulberries. Wondering if there’s a reason. I’ve usually had terribble luck with mulberry but will try longer thanks!

Using more mature wood also seems to increase your rooting odds.
Look closely and you'll see lots of pre-roots located on the bark of mature wood.
Rooting soft green-wood is problematic for me.

Yes, you will have a harder time if the cutting is only 6" long. Some varieties have longer spaced leaf nodes and when you root mulberry, you want to have at least 2 leaf nodes under the soil line (in pot) and then still have 2-3 above soil line. With a 6-8" cutting you may only get 1 or 2 nodes above the soil line. You will also see some slight die back(dries out) at the top end of the cutting so again, good to have a few inches for it to do so without kiling the bud node.

Kevin,

Good idea. I will need to look at this, I haven't been paying attention to the green or brown cuttings. I will try keeping my green cuttings (rooted) and brown cuttings separated so I can determine if it make a big difference. I just stuck 30 white pakistan a few months ago and they all died, but of the 20 red himalayan, I got some to root ok. I just saw a video for rooting in vermiculite so I might try that on the Australian Green/White Pakistan and see if it helps. It takes about 6-8 wks to see any roots per the video.
