I had to stump a tree but want to let it grow back, is there anything i can paint on wound to protect it.

White latex paint. The paint is just for preventing sun damage
They do sell tree wax and tree seal products but it doesnt seem to be necessary. The tree will naturally heal over the wound and grow back without any kind of sealer on the top.
