5 year old Persian Black Mulberry for sale (SOLD)
« on: October 22, 2012, 05:24:07 PM »
I will be selling a 5 year old Persian Black Mulberry (reported to be one of the best tasting). The tree is getting to large and is overgrowing the yard. Its currently in a half wine barrel, however it has rooted through in the last year. I will be digging out the tree and pruning the roots and canopy once it goes into hibernation. I am asking *$100* for it, local pick up in SoCal (pick up details can be worked out when its ready in the winter).

Here is the beautiful healthy tree from Sept. of this year. I have trained it a good deal and I like the form it has now. It has started to fruit as well lightly this year and last.

Thanks, if no one bites I may just end up keeping it and trying to bonsai it somehow lol. I am giving myself a reason to sell it now, but kind of don't want to sell it.

Free if you can come pick it up, or cover shipping. I plan to prune it back a lot this winter.

Null did you ever prune this bad boy down? I would have loved to pay for a cutting + two of your best cactus pads but sadly my credit card is at it's max.

I did prune it back. I sent out cuttings too one person. I have had the rest of the cuttings sitting in the car for 4 days after cutting.... So I don't know of the viability of rooting them now.

Just wanted to say that is trained beautifully.. I always like well trained trees.. I usually  train most of my trees to have two or 3 central leaders or lateral branches ( not sure which is the correct term) it keeps them a bit smaller.

I need to give it a good home. I may be moving soon, tree may need minor digging but I can help with that.

That is crazy, I have one about 5 years old, a persian mulberry that I have kept in a 15 gallon for a few years, it must be grafted on some dwarfing variety, it fruits great if I keep it watered. It is only 6 feet tall and bushy. I am afraid to put it in the ground and then jump to 50 feet real quick.

I got mine originally from Bay Laurel nursery. Its the most vigorous mulberry I have grown out of 4 other types.
