There are different guava types and yes, they do come in green and/or purple foliage. Perhaps you can post a picture of your plant for better identification.

The right growing condition for top tier cherimoyas won't necessarily work for the best atemoyas and vice versa so this head to head battle will most likely never play out.....unless you have contenders fly in from sources, and destination having very lax regulations (eg. Vietnam)

How'z that? That's a fraud, that's how that was. It was a kid playing a joke on us serious rare fruiters. It was a total hoax.

People do get lucky with seedlings here and there but you'd also have to keep in mind the California factor.

The original Choc Anon graft was done by the nurseryman where I got them from, I did not graft them myself. I only grafted the Lemon Zest so I don't have actual experience to give you pointers... but it really doesn't look that difficult if you're familiar with veneer method.
I thought it's interesting grafting onto a variety that produce multiple crops. I've never tasted Choc Anon but going against Xoài Cát Hòa Lộc and the likes, I don't understand the fascination since most farms induce their trees for out of season fruits anyway?
