Foliar Spray-Coconut Water
« on: April 20, 2012, 03:19:50 PM »
I have a ton of coconuts here at the fire station...I can't even seem to drink all of them..I heard that these are high in minerals and potassium...Anyone ever try diluting and using and a foliar spray? Maybe mix it in with a compost tea???

I would think it would be more useful mixed with a compost tea. It should feed beneficial microbes in the soil with the natural sugar in it.
Grow mainly fruits, vegetables, and herbs.

I'm thinking that it would be even better mixed with some white rum.... ;D

Personally I would drain the coconut water into bottles and freeze for future use. Mixed drinks or juice blends would be good use  ;D.

It's a good experiment and you can try it out and let us know the results. My guess is that the coconut water foliar spray would be really beneficial not only to plants but also to activate soil micro organisms.
Personally i would never do that. To me it's kind of like spraying champagne on plants. But if you REALLY have more than you can use then why not?
