Very heavy rain today putting more weight onto the mangos you sell

Do you sell by the pound or by the mango? Selling by the piece?
I sell by the piece but will be buying a scale for next year. To sell by the pound.

About five years ago it was so dry at just the right time. That my nam doc mai developed a bit of acid in them, giving them a complex taste. Not their usual, one dimensional honey taste, as they/NDM are usually described.

I want more rains! I like to think that moisture is taken out of the weather systems, meaning less chance of destructive hurricanes. Though this is probably not true.

I thought rains at this time could cause splitting and/or watered down flavors?

Yep, it will speed up the season.  Mango season ends here with daily rains usually in August

It has rained in previous weeks and have seen very little splitting so far. My opinion is that rain will fatten up the mangos, flavor getting diluted is something that you and I might notice. For the average consumer, there will not be a blip on his/her radar. 

I don't know for sure about flavor getting watered down. It might not even happen. The tree might be able to supply more nutrition to the fruits gaining more weight.

I sell by the pound really it is the only fair way for seller and customer. Currently selling wholesale $2/pound and retail $3/pound. Wholesale qualification is loose, few people buy more than they can eat, some go to resellers and they can buy 100 pounds or so at a time. Most do a 100% markup.
We are still very dry on Pine Island having been bypassed by many storms so mangos haven't suffered any washout.
