Almost none in the tropics where UV's exfeed 13 in the late dry season and temps are over 35c,or in dry summer low humidity windy places.It depends on your climate and time of the year you plant as well as hours of direct sun.

I was hoping a bunch. I have some wild longan seedlings (Dimocarpus malesianus), mangos, jackfruit, and avocados that seem to be fine but they are still somewhat small. My dwarf ambarella couldn't look happier and is quite mature. I was under the impression that a lot of tropical fruit trees will grow fine from seed in full as long as they are started there. It is also very humid here in Florida and I water every day. These are in pots. I am interested what others have to say on this.

Florida might be ok but early December and November in my area roasts any seedling in spite of humidity at saturation point.If the UV index is several points beyond extreme small seedlings of anything need respite especially if in pots.

Thanks both of you. Our summers are mostly wet and it should rain a lot in spring and summer...

I think of feijoas... they seem to like full sun almost sprouted... but I never tried... only tried with 10cm tall feijoas... and tamarillo, guayaba? it should work...

I start most all seeds in pot in full sun in south Florida wet season. All are doing fine. Mangoes, sapodilla, guanabana, ice cream bean, etc

Hi, myrtaceae and others from Mata Atlántica cannot be grown from seed in full sun, at least, in my experiencie

Thanks Mike, my place at Provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina, is orange, so it would be similar to Florida, USA, but mine is a darker orange...I see Australia is very hot...
