I didn't know about his tree getting cut off by the gardener. That was very good that you had one of his grafted trees. I remember when he mentioned he had the budsport on his tree. I have not seen the fruit in person, but it sure looks nice. Really appreciate you sharing the budwood this year. I hope my grafts have fruit in a few years. At least it has been saved by you and others who grafted your budwood.
I'd say it is only suited for the more advanced growers.
Hold my beer…
I haven’t heard of any success in growing this fruit in SoCA with a few possible exceptions. Would still love to taste it based on K-Rimes experience in El Salvador
"Nabal and sharwill"
Gozp, I will need to try them side by side. I didn't know Nabal is that good, glad I got some scion wood from Brad and have it grafted on the same tree with my Sharwill.
I have 2 Duhat varities in the Philippines thats one is seedless & one is called bangkok.hi gozp,
Both amazing, bangkok has no astrigency when riped.
do you have seeds / seedlings of the varieties? .i love jamuns.thank you
I got a lakatan from them a while back in a mixed banana bundle. They were all really small. Like 6 or 7 inches tall. I probably planted them a little to close to each other in a banana circle. The grand nain took off. It's got a bunch ripening right now. The dwarf namwah took off. It's got a bunch ripening. (And the biggest trunk ever on a banana stalk, like 14"+ at the base. It's fantastic)... The lakatan has grown to about 24" and skinny at that. I'm sure it needs more sun. Maybe I'll move it someday... at least it will be easy to carry when I do.
Got mine via mail order from "sow exotic"
Curious what Gary mix top soil consists of
That’s a great combination and a great price too. Good luck on your sale!
