There are direct flights from Denpassar to Balikpapan, and direct flights from Cairns to Denpassar.
So easy for Far North Queenslanders to get to balikpapan.

If going through Denpasar can you bring something rare and nice from Australia?

I can trade for durian scions. I have two rare Indonesian varieties: "Super Copper". It's copper color and better than Black Thorn apparently. They are in the same category due to the same color and similar taste. Also have durian Cumasi (strong fermented alcoholic taste ) , sold for $25 kg per kilo, which is extremely expensive in Indonesia considering most durians cost $1 per kilo.
Also have durian Nenek, very possibly the only tree in entire Bali. I brought it from Central Java. Lindsey described this durian: "One of the best durians that you may ever find in all of your years of durian hunting"

PS. You may need to fly to Banjarmasin, also from Denpasar. I think that's closer to Maryoto.

You need to fly to Banjarmasin.

Would love to see pictures and a report of your experience.  I was very close to visiting Borneo-Kalimantan over the holidays this year, but couldn’t fit it in.  Always next year.
