This summer I spent some time searching for some of my favorite annonas... The famous Illama from Guatemala. The seeds were treated and had very fast germination with the white and Pink seeds... The red flesh annona are much slower to germinate. These are now in 4x4x6 sapling pots and well established. I have taste reviews of the actual fruit.

The tastiest of the wild annonas, and a species that I have been chasing for a while. This is a single tree sourced from private property in the state of Bahia Brazil. Previous attempts to germinate were unsuccessful. These are very healthy 1/2 gallon pot grown and limited. This is #2 of 3, I am auctioning and the rest I am growing out for my own collection. I have other variations germinating but this is the famed Gigante.

The fruits are delicious and very refreshing for in natura consumption, especially if they are left in the fridge for a few hours. The tree is ornamental and great for decorating small gardens. The flowers are of excellent quality in nectar and pollen production, and therefore very suitable for beekeepers. Fruits are firm and because fruit flies are horny, they do not attack, a quality that gives great potential for marketing fruits in nature. By the small size this species can be successfully cultivated in urban arborization. Sold Out

Sapotinha, also known as Pouteria Gardneri, is a scarce fruit belonging to the Sapotaceae family, and it is indigenous to Paraguay, Southern, Eastern, and Northern Brazil, and Bolivia. This fruit thrives in both full sun and dappled shade and is commonly found in the wild, growing on well-drained clay soils and moderately fertile soils. The fruit is typically harvested from the wild and consumed locally. It contains a single seed enveloped in a very sweet, juicy pulp similar to jaboticaba. The skin is edible!

Pouteria ramiflora “Curriola"
Pouteria ramiflora is a species of Pouteria, originating from the state of Acre. It bears fruit twice a year and is highly tolerant of cold temperatures. The mother plant from which we collected seeds was able to withstand temperatures as low as -2°C without any harm.

Some have described as the taste as a blend between an Abiu (Pouteria cainito) and an Avocado.

Campomanesia xanthocarpa "Gaibiroba Boliviana”
Gabiroba is a semi-deciduous tree with a tall, dense, pyramid-shaped crown, ranging in height from 4 - 15 metres. Native from Minas Gerais and Mato Grosso do Sul to Rio Grande do Sul in almost all forest formations of those regions. The edible fruits are greatly appreciated within the plant's native range, where it is gathered from the wild and also cultivated in home gardens and orchards.Fruits are eaten raw, The round yellow or orange fruits  with juicy, firm and sweet-tasting pulp

Fruits at 5-10 years old, mature trees are freeze tolerant to the low 20's, one of the top 100 most delicious fruits on the planet.  Taste is similar to Sabara Jaboticaba (see above) but larger fruit (up to 4cm), thicker skin with a longer hold period (3+ days unrefrigerated) after harvest, firmer flesh, and a more mild but satisfying flavor that you can eat pounds of per sitting.  60%+ pulp by weight, produces at 5-10 years old and bears a few times per year after 2-5 years of fruiting if kept irrigated and fertilized.  Germination rates of 80%+ will continue well past 3 months from harvest.  Needs daily watering and pH <7.5 either by water, soil, or amendments.  Perfect for container culture.

sachamango (Grias peruviana) This plant grows best in a humid tropical climate and clay soils, rich in organic material; its characteristics and great adaptability allow the plant to withstand the adverse conditions that occur during the rainy season.
The fruit grows along the trunk of the plant and its shape is similar to a mango, the skin is coffee colored while the flesh is orange and grows around a large white pit. The color, consistency and taste of the sachamango is similar to a carrot.

The sachamango is harvested by hand, it is peeled using a machete due to the hardness of its peel in order to be able to eat it. It is eaten raw, toasted or roasted over coals which results in a buttery consistency and a taste much like dried fruit.
In addition to the flesh, the indigenous population of Amazonia use the dried back and the pit to make teas that possess laxative and purifying properties.
