A couple of trades with fantastic forum friends, and all of a sudden I have a few g. prainiana.

The largest of the bunch looks to have been trimmed prior to shipping, and arrived with 2 leafs. Yesterday and last night, we were pounded with 7+ inches of rain and 35 - 40 mph winds. The 2 last leafs did not make it. Plant has a nice root system, and a fat stem. Wondering if there is any chance of it sprouting new growth, or are garcinias done when they lose all leafs?

I have a collection of wild mango and Wango seedlings that can let go of.

Wangoes are hybrids of m. Indica (mango) with wild mangoes (mango cousins, different species). These seeds are from choice selections made by Dr. Richard Campbell.

The crushed leaves of the wangoes are either citrusy or spicy. Very nice. I know some have crossed with OS. I would keep most/all of these if had the room.

60 for larger trees (m. Zeylanica, Tenom, Wangoes) These seedlings are from 2021 or 2022 fruits. 

50 for medium trees (Pentandra, wild mangoes, and Wangoes) These are 1 or 2 years old.

30 for small wangoes and mempalam. These are either fast growers, or from last year.

20 for extra small mempalam.  These are from spring 2023.

Large trees are in 3 gal pots, and/or are around waist high.

Also, will sell and ship some small mempalam and wango seedling trees to a select few forum members. Will post a thread soon, when I get enough free time to deal with shipping.

Anyone have plants like Brad's Atomic or Black Strawberry tomatoes, or Everglades tomato? I like the mini tomatoes, like cherries, and interested in different colors. Tasty too

I have a couple of extra yangmei scions, Deep Red and maybe a Crystal or 2. Local pickup only (South Miami area). Scions are good sized (length), different calipers.

Grew this maprang from seed. Do not recall where it came from. Does anyone have an idea if this could be the sweet or the sweet and sour variety, or other? The leaves put off a citrus mango smell when crushed, similar to LZ and OS.

Hello everyone.

Is anyone growing Ma'afala (or any other breadfruit) in Miami-Dade or Homestead area? Any info on flowering and fruiting, harvest? Thinking of adding a tree and wanted to hear about other's experiences.

Also, how good is the fruit? I'm looking for something to cook with, and wondering how realistic it is to use breadfruit as a regular food source. Love potatoes, yucca, malanga, boniato, and all kinds of stuff like that, but not easy to grow them in my yard. Medium size tree would work.

Have eaten some in past while in the Caribbean, but has been a while. 

Inspired by Brad, I chopped a fruiting banana stalk that was damaging our fence. In the past, would've waited till ripe, but after seeing those cado trees taken out, got the nerve up to take it down.

Question: Can you do anything to make super green bananas edible? These are Sweethearts. Not sure if they can be used like plantains at this stage. All ideas are welcome and appreciated!

Where can I find a nice sized lakoocha tree in South Florida? My tree dropped all its leaves and may have died.

Its been super dry and the sprinkler doesn't hit that spot well enough. Trying to save it, but a replacement or bigger tree might be needed, or would be nice.

Does anyone have info on mangifera mempalam? I have 2 fruits, which are ripening, and planning on growing out the seeds. Was wondering if anyone has info on this species, fruit, etc. Thanks.

My mother-in-law is from Cuba, and has spoke very fondly of a fruit that no one has yet to identify to her. She recalls fruit from childhood in Cuba, 1950's and 60's.

Description:

Fruit are roundish, around grapefruit size, and can be purple or green. She does not recall any latex. Fruit was mostly flesh, juicy. Not much info on seeds. She recalls the fruit as being very sweet and tasty.

Any ideas as to what this could be?
