WTB: Allspice tangelo fruit.
« on: February 19, 2023, 03:01:44 PM »
Wondering if anyone in the US has any allspice tangelo fruit and would be willing to deal with the hassle of shipping. I've tried reaching out to folks in Arizona who sell them, without any success. Not sure if the season might have already passed for the year, but I'd be interested in talking to anyone who might be able to provide some next year, if it comes to that. Thanks :)

Good luck, it's a rare one for sure, with a short season.

been looking for a few yrs. People in CA and AZ have them but shipping citrus in/out of there is heavily restricted.

I'd be grateful for a CA source who is certified to share material.

To clarify, I'm just looking for fruit at this time, which shouldn't present any issues with shipping out of AZ or CA. If you know any growers, please let me know who to talk to!

It's weirdly scarce in most of the US, and is not currently available from CCPP. If you'd like to sell me some fruit, send me a DM. A medium size USPS flat rate box would be fantastic :)

Due to the citrus quarantine, and the fact that the CCPP doesn't offer budwood, it's impossible to source legally in California. The fruit I've tasted at CRFG events was excellent, and definitely worth introducing at the CCPP, but the process is expensive. It's currently not on their "Upcoming" varieties list.  https://ccppdms.ucr.edu/ccppdms/upcoming_varieties
