Title: red jabo first flowering
Post by: brian on August 24, 2022, 11:31:02 PM
Not as far north as our Canadian friend, but I am still happy to see flowers for the first time.  I bought this tree as a tiny seedling a few years ago.  It is about 3ft tall (not including container)

Nice job! Mine is similar sized as yours and has put out a couple dozen fruit so far and is still flowering, I'm thinking yours will do the same too.

Thanks!    Do you have an idea of roughly what portion of flowers are likely to become fruit?

Very nice! Looks like a healthy tree as well. Is that in a 3 gallon pot? Hard to tell scale.

Nice one. Mine are flowering about the same size as well. Mine did flower last year, same kind of bud as yours but didn't hold any. I hope yours hold.

Good deal
Once they start to flower it gets better and better.
More flowers, more fruit and more often

For me, I would say 50% turned to fruit. A cluster of flowers at a single point usually two would hold

Thanks!    Do you have an idea of roughly what portion of flowers are likely to become fruit?

Congrats! Mine is bigger than that, but still nothing. I keep checking. Has to be a great feeling.

Thanks!   I've only ever tasted Sabara so looking forward to trying it.

Yes, I think this is a 3gal pot

Friend 1” trunk tree is at my home.
1st time flowering.

It had a fruit.
I ate it last week.
Much better than Trunciflora I tasted before.

Tree is holding another fruit. 3 weeks later than 1st one.

Tree is flowering again, much more than last month.
So maybe more fruits later.

That is only a 1" trunk?  From this perspective the tree looks much larger.  These really are nice looking trees, with the added bonus of the unusual fruiting style
