Has anyone tried insulating their citrus trees trunks with swimming pool noodles? Last year in zone 7a it got down to 2 degrees F.

There would be a lot of air gaps that may let the trunk get to cold. I have not. bubble wrap may work a lot better.

I only used cocos mat to some trunks or young grafting units to isolate.
I took this to not get condensating water to the plants.
