Did you know these are dioecious? You will need at least 3 trees to try you luck. Trees look small in pictures, but reality they have large spreading crowns that needs a lot of space. Recommended planting distance is 10 meters. ( almost like durian ;D )Also, like most Amazon palm fruits, looks are deceiving. Actual pulp content is only like 15-20%. There is big fat seed hiding inside of those fruit pictures. Also fruit is almost inedible in natural form. I tried samples from few places and nearly spitted it out every time. Tasteless. They have to processed into something the way locals do. Either with sugar, spices or mixed with other ingredients.
Not to sound pessimistic, just so you know what you are getting yourself into!

I had never heard this name for this tree, the most common name is Buriti, I saw this post and
I was thinking that if asked about aguave (plant that makes tequila!).
Buriti need a very humid climate, soaked ground preferably at some time of the year.

It is a large tree, slow growth, super slow germination and dioic.
The most interesting is the oil that is in the seeds.
