Anyone shipped plants from Asia to US?

I may be returning through a port with no USDA office and even if I do, the plants will need to be inspected in the same way that plants through the mail will. Anyone tried shipping plants to the US and had success? I have my permit to import plants via baggage, but an amendment to import via mail won't be too difficult.
