I just can’t even. Good luck on your journey.
Dude, they grow everywhere just like Cecropia. Like, everywhere. Acres of just Hala in places, they’re used for weaving and paint brushes but not used for food. You don’t grow them , theyre just everywhere. Like an Oak tree with acorns in cali.I've tried them 5+ years ago and don't remember the flavor. The pods have to fall individually when ripe and with rat lung worm , eating fruit off the ground is a dicey proposition. I see the fruits shaping up so will see if I can get a picture and a taste when I see some appropriate drops .
In california? Where specifically?
Hmm interesting. You are growing some currently?

makes a better paintbrush than food source. would be hard to ship as the individual pieces drop to the ground from the fruit as they ripen.
Well have you tried the fruit .
I live in florida and I actually enjoyed the flavor but I heard that it might have different flavors if grown by seed.
Hey FruitHunterxox, I hope you’re doing well. Serendib farm is selling mabolo right now and they ship. Check out their website. serendibfruits.com. Hope that helps.

My Akebia trifoliata is fruiting heavily this year. They won't be ripe until early September, but I'd be happy to mail you one or two. I'm in Washington State.
