That tree is going to be way to big for its area but you can let it go for now.the idea is to keep it within 8-9 ft, but my concern is that as these two limbs are noticeable bigger now, sap will flow mostly on their side, leaving the tree unbalanced forever.

what is going on with this red atemoya? It started with the dark stuff, but at least the leaves were green. But now it's getting worse, with the leaves actually becoming quite yellow-ish and drying up.

this Fuerte pushed growth heavily on two limbs, but the other one was left behind (right side of the picture). Should I trim the new growth back to level out all limbs again?

still all my papayas are very green. Any ideas about why is it taking so long? According to information I have found, it should be 5-6 months max from flower to harvest, and I'm already on the 7-8th month.

The kiwi I bought is branching very low, so I'll try to let the cordons grow on either side, and tie the fruitful wood in the horizontal canes.

well, at the end of the day, a plant/tree grows as much as you are willing to let it grow. It's all about how often do you want to prune.
I asked ChatGPT for ideas about the "potted trellis" and according to it, it should be very feasible using trellises with an A, single T (unlike the standard double T used for kiwis), or fan shape.

Finally pulled the trigger on a Jenny to leave space for another fruit, instead of fully covering the wall with male and female kiwis.
Another idea popped up on my mind. As I don't really need to have a heavy crop, would it be possible to grow it in a container with a "portable" support? In other words, the support will not be the wall but bamboo canes or something different put into the container as well.

I have noticed that I uploaded a picture of this side of the backyard in the avocado thread
the idea would be to put a pot next to the wall between each pair of avocados.
once the plant is established, repotting would be impossible right? As I would need to "untie" it from the wall. What pot size should I consider here? I don't want to use a big pot, 7-10 gallons maybe.
initially I thought about planting them on the ground, but there is little room in the left spot, so having one in pot and one in ground would look weird.

I'm based in the Canary Islands, zone 11b.
So far, I have several subtropical and temperate trees, but I have an available spot in my backyard which I'm going to use to grow vegetables and other fruits (in pots).
I have some strawberries pots already, some peppers, and I'm considering adding tomatoes and zucchini. What I don't know is, do these plants die after a season? Or can I plant them in larger pots to let them grow like a "tree"?

I have two spots on a wall, deciding whether to go for a vine (likely kiwi) or use a nectarine and a cherry.
As the deciduous bear fruit on second year wood, would they really be a smart choice here? Do they even fruit again on the same branch once they have already fruit once?

this is actually what I was wondering whether or not it was viable. That's how I'm managing the branches of my espaliered pomegranate and pear, but as a kiwi is not a tree, I didn't know if that was enough.

would it work if instead of a full trellis, there are only some supports along the wall? For example, I have a espalier pomegranate and a pear, and I don't have a specific support for them, just when a branch has sufficient growth, I add a new support (hook) and let it be until it grows again.
I guess this maybe is not possible with kiwis?

I have three avocados along the wall, about 4-5ft from it. At some point these avocados would grow and probably let this wall in a partial-shade situation, but that's still many years away.
So, I'm thinking on cover this wall with kiwis. As I have three avocados, maybe plant a male between the Hass and the Fuerte, and female between the Fuerte and the Reed, but near the wall.
But, I have a question. As I won't have a trellis, the vines should be attached directly on the wall. Is that a crazy idea? I see everyone using a trellis.

Looks like the leaves are drying up. Likely transplant shock from breaking the root. Just keep it well watered and maybe give it a bit of shade with some shade cloth or maybe a large potted plant that can cast a shadow over it until it pulls through.water is not a problem. It's been raining, and when it does not for some days, I water the tree. Actually, I have two potted mangoes "protecting" it.

This yellow sapote was recently dug out and planted in this location. In the process of digging it out, I broke the largest root, I wasn't expecting such small tree to have a root that depth. This was about two weeks ago.

Bad focus, but it's something appearing at different branches of the tree, and even around the trunk on the soil.
It's not solid, rather like a "spider sac", although it's not really so. It's kind of sticky, but easily cleanable.

Should I trim them back to encourage branching as in deciduous trees?
My idea was to let it grow up to the black zone, and then let it form a canopy.

I'm returning to this topic because things are getting worse on the lychee.
They are all over the tree now.
I have tried potassium soap, sticky adhesive around the trunk, commercial ants insecticides... nothing seems to work.
I have read that citric juice like lemon juice could work because they don't like it, but also that it's a risk because it reduces the pH of the soil. However, as lychees like acid soils, maybe could that work?
