I wouldn't plant a Kei Apple unless you have a large property and can tuck it away to avoid those thorns.

I haven't had any problems withoquats, so far. The trick I think, is planting them in late September. Gives the roots enough time to dig into the soil and be adjusted before June. I have a pretty big juicy Jim from tropicamango in AJ, but, it hasn't bloomed yet.

Thanks for the tip! Do you know where I can buy those bugs? I also heard the smell of marigolds can also repel thrips, s am throwing some seed around my roses, as they are getting hit, too.

Very happy, my blood orange is bloody. I know Tarocco isn't supposed to have deep pigment so I think it turned out an appropriate color.
The one I ate so far was good, mild taste with that raspberry tang present. Not bad for first year fruiting

I was told by someone smarter than me, allow your fruit to produce fruit for 3 seasons. After then, you can truly judge the fruit quality. Not perfect, but I find it a good rule of thumb.

Interesting. This is my first fruit ever. I may need to wait a while until the fruit gets better. Also, the are 2 still green on the tree. Maybe this was just a bad one. Looking forward to less sourness!

Was very excited that I had a ripe fruit on the ground today. Brought it in and ate that bad boy up. I think it fits true to the name. It was 60% sour lemon, 40% sweet (I couldn't detect any mandarin flavor) and it had a lime after taste.
I think it is just a tad too sour for general public, but, it was tantalizingly close. For all of us fruit nuts, I think it's a pretty good fruit. Oh, and it was pretty juicy.

I think I brought them onto my property after buying some rose bushes at the big box stores. I've tried a whole bunch othigs, trimming off infected branches, need oil. Been trying for over a year and no luck.

Just making sure that ceonanthus is named CA lilac because of the flower color and not the scent.
I'd love to grow anything that had a lilac fragrance, so I'd buy one in a second if it did.

I know everyone grows coffee for the beans. But, does any coffee produce fruit that is pleasantly edible? Would be nice to have a plant with a dual purpose.

I think I made a mistake with my mother's citrus tree. I got a tangerine tree on clearance at Lowe's a few years back.
I cannot remember the variety, but, I think after having the tree for a few years that the flavor will always be sweet tart.
My mom is a boomer that was spoiled rotten bt her greatest generation mother. Never forced her to try anything unusual. She is extremely meat and potatoes.
So, even though the tree is very healthy, I think u am going to take it down because my mother always complains that the fruit are too tart.
So, what would be a good suggestion on a mandarin or orange that has a flavor that would appeal to someone that grew up in the 50's/60's, is very sweet and not tart.
