Pawpaw cultivars for southern Central Florida
« on: July 26, 2024, 09:23:18 PM »
Anyone growing any named Asimina Triloba (common pawpaw) south or around I-4? I have one seedling that, after a rough start, has been growing very well. I will probably be getting at least one more when possible, but I was curious to know what others have grown and if they've had any success with the named pawpaws since seedlings vary wildly in fruit quality.

I would also be interested in knowing if there was any improved versions of the other pawpaws for taste. Or if anyone has found that one of the other species consistently has a good flavor.

Thats a bummer. How tall (roughly) do they get before they putter out. Mines about a foot and change tall, and has come out of dormancy pretty well. I think a second winter is gonna be the true test.

I have two smallflower pawpaws and a slimleaf pawpaw that are doing well too. I know there is seeds availible for a few types, but I've had some issues getting them started.
