Awesome trees you have for sale!

Could you share what type of pots those are and where you purchased them from?

Those are pots I got from Lowes that can also be used as water features with ponds, etc.

I can do $600 firm on the 25g Coronata Restinga jaboticaba otherwise I will put it in a 45g in the spring and the price will be at least $800.  Let me know if you are interested.

The leaves and growth habit looks more like a yellow jabo but hard to tell.  What color is the fruit when ripe?

First, I want to apologize for not responding since my OP in 2016!

I grew my plant gradually up into a 7 gallon, then planted in the ground here in C Florida a few months ago.  Seems to be doing alright in an area where it gets morning sun, then filtered shade in the afternoon.  Also, seems cold-tolerant, but we've had a warm winter so far.  It's about 3 ft now and has flowered and fruited, but the fruit never make it past the green stage (I'm assuming it's the squirrels).  It also does not set many fruit compared to how much it flowers and I'm thinking that cross pollination from another plant would help.

I would be interested in getting scions of Pine Island Gold at some point.  Is there a particular root stock that is best for grafting scions onto with starfruit in general or does it matter?

None of the carambola varieties typically sold in nurseries require cross-pollination to set fruit.

I've grown Arkin, Kari (Kary), Fwang Tung, Sri Kambangan - all of them fruit well on their own.

Besides mulberry, [grafted] starfruit is one of the most productive fruit trees at a young age.

Hi Mark, I would love to get some seeds from that if you are willing to send to FL.  I have another black Surinam Cherry from Adam that is on the verge of fruiting, so I would love to grow both and compare.  Thanks, Nate

I'm only 10 miles south of you, Adam, in Maitland and the temps didn't drop below 40F for me.  I'm on the south side of a lake as well, so that mitigates the cold.  I'm going to miss this micro-climate once I leave this house and move to Maryland soon!  Selling almost all my plants but keeping the jabos and a few other things.
