The leaves put off a citrus mango smell when crushed, similar to LZ and OS.

Hey! What can you tell us about garcinia sp de Amazonia? Taste?

Here are some pretty ripe fruits. They can get a little lighter than this, then start to get darker colors again and the flavor starts to change/turn.





...also, when you pick one, note the taste and color. They should be a little sweet. If they are totally bland, too early. If they are mildly sweet, crispy, and refreshing, they are ripe. If they are pretty sweet with more complex flavors, they are overripe.

Another thought is, if you spray (or not), the tree will drop what it can't handle and you can always cull to make the crop lighter. So the real experts might favor spraying so you have the healthiest blooms possible and more options going forward.

Thank you Bill. Please don't feel bad about my trees. USPS dropped the ball, and I know how this thing can go. You have been tremendously kind and generous with your time and effort, and sacrificed sleep and chill time to help more people out. I have nothing but gratitude for you and all those who assisted.

I may be hitting people up for budwood in the near future, so anyone who has anything other than Biqi/BC, please contact me if you can sell scions. Got some good rootstock already.

No spraying here, but 2 miles from the bay/ocean.

FB sellers are offering them again. Also saw mangoes from Vietnam, well over $100 for 5 or 6 shipped.

Can say that maprang is a beautiful tree, Our little seedling is a couple of feet now, and looks like an exotic mango. Grows great in partial light/shade. No protection needed from cold in our area.

Can maprang be kept in a container for long? Would be nice poolside in a decorative pot.

Used to feed plants black water from freshwater cichlid tanks packed with fish, plants, and driftwood . Never bought fertilizer for the house and porch plants, as the back water was fantastic. Have considered keeping freshwater fish again, partly for the wastewater.

I would be afraid to use skimmate from a protein skimmer. Not sure if the salt is transferred well in the foam, but who knows what is in the cup. Marine tanks, water, and fish usually end up getting dosed with all kinds of stuff, including antibiotics and copper. Even if it is good for plants and fruit, doubt enough could be produced and fed to plants to make much of a difference.
