Welcome CaCoGrow:
This is a great place.

I'm growing 80 coconuts in my grove and got some 7 gal Fiji to plant soon.

How much variety is there in coconuts?  I have tried them at different maturity levels but I have never heard of different types/cultivars sold by name

Welcome! Love the poll.

Growing 2 Dwarf Fiji, 1 Malayan Green, and some random coconuts around here.

A few nanners and lots of pineapples too. Many from trusted TFF members.

They cross pollinate easily so I think it’s safe to say there are thousands of varieties out there, but Known varieties ? Probably Not more than 20

your profile says you are in san diego so we are neighbors yes you can grow bananas and pineapples but not coconuts, however there are so many other fruits and nuts that you can grow here.      Welcome    Patrick

Hundreds, maybe thousands if you counted every variation

Hi, Welcome aboard! Coco's can be grown all over SoCal, however it's very marginal and fussy. I grow them out by my pool and they do okay. They look great in the summer and suboptimal in the Winter. Mine did not appreciate one night at 39 degrees. I also grow a few types of banana and pineapple 👍🏻
