Yuzukichi from Quissac
Skandiberg:
Hi all,
Does anybody have yuzukichi sold by Quissac?
If it's the Nagato version of yuzukichi, it should have an early ripening, sweet yuzu-like fruit with quite good hardiness. Quissac is uploading their stock and a few ones were up for sale but sold out soon. I wonder if it's worth ordering it or not, in case they upload a few more later. I would love to hear some first hand experiences but it seems to be a rather rare variety.
Thanks!
Florian:
I have it and it has flowered for the first time this year.
It is a beautiful round fruit. Since I have never had/seen a Nagato Yuzukichi, I cannot say if mine is the real deal. Quissac also sells plants originally grown from seed so this one could be one too.
Skandiberg:
Thanks Florian! I hope this is the one. Please give us an update when the fruit ripens. I'm very curious to hear what it's like.
Scipio:
It should remain green even a lot after the maturation and it looks your fruit is pretty similar to the one shown at the following link
Skandiberg:
Thank you for the link, it's a very good article!
Seeing Florian's fruit, I couldn't resist any longer so I got one of the same yuzukichi. It's grafted on PT so I may try it in ground after keeping it in pot for another two seasons.
