I make sure mine are well watered and in the shade.

Out of the shade here and the leaves turn yellow.

This coming spring I plan on making room in my yard for as yet undetermined varieties.

Slated for the axe are:

Excalibur Mamey. After 12 years of die back and no fruit, this one goes for sure.

Thatís too bad . Our Excalibur mamey has fruited and itís outstanding, albeit a slow growing/compact tree (which I suppose is a benefit to some). Very bright red flesh too.

Are you growing other mamey varieties? I ask because some donít self pollinate well.

Planted one of these today and hope I have the experience with this mamey Alex had.

Dwarf Hawaiian and Rosa are the first two I think of here.

Happy to see this thread, this is something we have been talking about this week at my house.

9
We had about 41 here and only plants that look hurt were the soursops.

Not usually in December.

Its been so long since Ive brewed, this thread might be the reason I start back up home brewing.

Didnt have any access to any rare fruit back then.

12
Mead would be where I would start.

Not that complicated.

For me its Mamey. Especially since any I get from the stores I think are used to practice punts before putting out. Most people where I live also have no clue what they are.

Is M4 available to buy trees or scions?  I don't think I have that one but will have to see if Simon planted any m4 seeds here.  It doesnt have a name yet?  Are people not supposed to have it growing or ?

M4 is definitionally available for sale to the public.

Doubt it will kill the trees but it might affect how much fruit you get.
