Seeds Del Mundo dishonest business?

Hi guys. On March 11th I bought Seeds Del Mundo Theobroma Grandiflora Seeds, Theobroma cacao Big Fruit Pot, Myrciaria Vexator Whole Fruit and he sent them to me pretty quickly, but the package never left the Netherlands. I informed Seeds Del Mundo about this on April 12th, he told me to refund or resend. I agreed to re-send and they quickly did everything again. On April 23rd, I received the package and found that it contained something completely different and all the seeds were dead. After checking the invoice, I realized that the product was intended for another buyer. I informed Seeds Del Mundo about this, they offered compensation only for the item, no refund of shipping costs. I agreed and Seeds Del Mundo said that I had already returned the money. I checked my PayPal account and there is nothing there.  I again wrote a letter to Seeds Del Mundo but received no response. Today I was already angry, and therefore I opened a dispute on PayPal about the return of the full amount, including the amount of postal services. Am I doing the right thing?

Sorry, but your story is difficult to make any sense of.  I won't even try.  It would hurt my head too much!  (I read it twice and won't do it a third time.)
I find it difficult to explain the situation in English, I'll try this:
1. The first mail was lost in the Netherlands.
2. The second package came with someone else's product.
3. They promise to refund and do not refund.

If they don't respond then disputing the transaction is the only thing to do.
Always use credit card with easy dispute policy when purchase anything online.

I ordered from them once and didn't have any issues. However from what you are saying, they should have either refunded you in full or given you another replacement. Perhaps post your issue on their Facebook page? No company like bad publicity.

It can be difficult to get money back from Paypal. If you didn't receive anything at all or have no tracking number then it is easier to get your money back. But if you did receive something and are complaining because it doesn't match what you purchased (Or in the case where you bought something and it was a fake) it can be very difficult. Paypal will usually decline your complaint or if they do entertain it, they will usually require either a Police report (for fraud/fake items) or sometimes they will ask you to take it to some third party to get verified that what you received is not acurate.

If you purchased through Paypal but used your credit card (Instead of withdrawing from your bank) then it is easier, as you can go to your credit card and get them to reverse.. Note that not all credit card companies will be easy, but most. Some also require you to take it to another third party to verify and most do not cover the shipping fees if you actually received something.

Paypal is notoriously customer friendly, I expect you will have no issues seeking a refund through them

Today they got in touch and we may have settled all the misunderstandings. The situation is just idiotic, I think this has never happened to anyone. As I said earlier, the first parcel was lost in the Netherlands, the second parcel arrived with someone else's goods, when they returned the money, they made a mistake with the address and sent the money to another person. Who else has had this?  ;D ;D ;D I believed them,they gave me proof of their words and promised to return the money tomorrow if I close the dispute PayPal. I decided to take a risk and canceled the claim.

You should have said you will close the claim once they make it right.  Not sure what paypal would do if you tried to refile the same claim...

I bought some M. vexator seeds from them, but they were turned back by Brazilian customs. I figured I was out of pocket for the cost, but unexpectedly received an email from Seeds Del Mundo notifying that they were refunding my money since the seeds were returned (somewhat surprisingly they weren't confiscated / destroyed by customs).

Mike thanks for the tip, I just ordered three fruits from montosogardens. This is Small Yellow Forastero Cacao. I hope I won't have any problems with these guys.

Montoso Gardens is great. You can also get T. Grandiflorum from him sometimes. Not sure about shipping to Russia, but here in the U.S. shipping works fine. I do know he sends plenty of overseas orders. In case you don’t know, small yellow refers to the small yellow forastero pod, not the size of the tree.

Cacao can be kept pretty small in a good or bad environment-in a good environment, you can prune it and it will grow new shoots easily (though it does want to get big), and in a bad environment, it’ll keep dying back and will be small anyway. They like to start branching out naturally at around 5 feet tall, and can often get around 10 feet tall in a greenhouse/pot. Though I’d expect around 7-8 feet tall as the average. So between 2 and 3 meters mature in a greenhouse with some pruning.

Not sure about shipping to Russia, but here in the U.S. shipping works fine.
It worked,I got three fetuses from them. The seeds have already sprouted.

There should be a warning attached to this business. They have stolen a lot of money from me and make no communication and send nothing.

Hi Everyone,

My mother did some research online about our name Seeds Del Mundo and she stumbled different forum chats on this forum. I will reply to all the messages once because we really don't like all this negativity from one person while we are doing our best to solve everything.

If you read this subject carefully what is opened by Forster who had a questions, everything is worked out perfectly fine. Forster self wrote this here below, so I hope everything is clear voor everybody. The person Agreendream (Christopher) is spreading unnecessary negativity about us. We are really sad about this. I hope when other "customers" or I prefer I call our customers "our friends" are reading this, are willing to take the time and effort to let the community know that we are all about love, caring and honesty.

Please read the message of our friend Foster below that is a confirmation of how we solve weird issues. You can read this comment also in this chat when you scroll down. I just copy pasted here for the convenience .

@agreendream: I really do not appreciate this way of communication.  :( We have sent multiple e-mails to each other and all where very clear: we are going to fix the problem together no matter what. I even tried to call you on your phone number but you where not answering. I don't know why you are so "hateful" and want to spread so much "distrust" about us. My mother and I are working so unbelievable hard to make everybody happy with all the things we do. Please read all the happy messages of our planting friends.

Agreendream or better known as Christopher: I want to ask you again (for the fourth time my friend) to wait patiently.

To Agreendream:
Why all the impatience? We always reply to e-mail messages and yes sometimes it can take up to 5 working days. I hope you understand my mother and I are wanting to make everybody happy with sharing all wonderful creations of mother nature. Why all this negativity? Why all this hate? Why do you treating us through e-mail and putting so much pressure? Wy can't you just communicate on an adult level and be patience when the investigation of the carrier is done?

To all of our customers who have responded below with their positive experience with us: thank you so much for your support. I hope people read all your comments and don't take the negativity of Agreendream seriously.   :D

@Agreendream: Again I don't appreciate this way of treating people, so I want to tell you this AGAIN and AGAIN like we already stated in multiple e-mails to you: WE WILL REFUND YOU after the investigation of our carrier is finished (this is a normal way of doing the refunds due to the insurance policy) . I want to ask you kindly to not order anymore at our website because we don't want to share and sell our goods to people who are so deeply unfair in life. P.S. I will add a screenshot WHEN we replied and with the dates. We always reply and yesss the first reply took + another one took longer than 5 working days even one time 2 weeks because in the Netherlands we had holiday season and we where on vacation with the children.  We are all about full transparency so I hope this will make all clear  :D

Well, I've read their reaction and the screenshot says something else. Not fair of you to point that way and give Seeds Del Mundo a bad name when I see that there has indeed been communication. I'm sorry you're acting so bitter. Sometimes it is more correct to just contact the seller yourself than to launch a smear campaign against the company. Because I see that you have indeed had contact.

   Always wondered how they can manage this kind of business selling Tropical fruit seeds collecting from around Surinam about 3 degrees N of the Equator and sending to an intermediary in Netherlands about 10 degrees South from the Arctic Circle and ship it back to the tropical or subtropical area customers. All by Airmail! Thought of finding out their contact phone numbers in Netherlands and Surinam to enquire and assess their knowledge of the tropical fruit trees or bushes surrounding Surinam and how they gathered the seeds, stored, how they packed, how they mailed. Most important also is the TIME taken for these above processes.
   I have over eight (8) decades of keen interest in the Tropical and Subtropical fruit trees, bushes and vines and almost six (6) decades in the Temperate fruit trees, bushes and vines.
   Please note that I have never bought anything from them and I am not blaming or praising them. But just  eager to know how they do this delicate time consuming multinational transfer of Agricultural items (Tropical seeds)through International Customs, Courier and Postal departments.  Triphal

Hi Triphal,

Great question my friend. I also answered this question on our website but maybe it's a good idea to add this more prominent :-) We will do this asap.

Surinam was about 200-300+ years a colony of the Netherlands so there are special bonds between these 2 countries. There are living almost the same amount Surinam people in the Netherlands as in Surinam self haha. It's a real special thing because Surinam has only 500.000 inhabitants.

I'm living with my mother in the Netherlands. My mother is born in Surinam. My uncle, aunt and grandmother are still living there and we can sent packages to each other in a very fast way due to the special bonds between the countries with special shipping / airplane connections.

Also I'm often on family visiting. Right nog I'm in Surinam myself (very hot this period and very dry weather right now so less fruits and less seeds). I will take seeds and fruits with me to the Netherlands also. So delivery time to the Netherlands is even 9 hours! Faster then this is not possible I guess ;-) Great solution right.

This is why we can ship extremely fast. Fresh products can be in the Netherlands within 3 days if I'm not taking the seeds myself.

Why do we want to ship from the Netherlands and not from Surinam?
Surinam is a third world country and worldwide shipping is not completely possible. And if you can ship, it will take tooo long due to the infrastructure and the way things are arrange (better said not good arranged) over here.
In contrary The Netherlands has one of the best developed infrastructures in the world so shipping from the Netherlands through the whole world is the best thing to do. We are blessed with the bonds between both countries and blessed with family members in both countries who are doing this all together with passion for plants :-).

I was formerly an overseas member of Seed Savers Exchange, trading with USA members. Mainly dry stored vegetable seed, but no problems back then.
Also did some Tropical Fruit and Australian Native fruit seed collecting in Far North Qld and Cape York.
Some were mailed to other people in Australia, some were packed and transported.
Some went overseas.
Apart from some over zealous people at the front desk of the Post Office, who wanted to enforce rules they don't understand,
and a few Customs Officers / Seed Inspectors with a similar frame of mind, mostly it went well.
