I have this fuzzy abiu seedling I am trying to get rid of. Purchased the seeds from fruitlovers on a whim but I don’t want to baby it this summer just for it to die in the winter

Happy to answer any questions and I can try to work with the buyer if the location is in a tricky place

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Misting System Recommendation

Hello, I've cobbled together a shadehouse/ greenhouse this winter for my figs and tropicals. I want to install around ten or twelve misting nozzles around the tropical side of my shadehouse. The area is 10 feet by 20 feet. Would you recommend that I pick up a ~180 PSI Pump? Or could you recommend a system for me. My house has a water softener so hopefully the lines don't get clogged too frequently. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you

Tropical Fruit Discussion / 1 gallon mango pruning question

I am unsure how I should proceed with pruning this young mango tree. Next week I was planning to remove the flower buds so they don’t start growing out again by pruning too early. If I remove the flowers will my mango still grow upright or will it start to branch out?  I have a couple of 1 gallon mangos growing well from Lara farms so I wanted to be sure. Thank you.

USA only, don't really know how to ship across international waters and I was just burned by customs with my custard apple seeds.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Fertilize after planting?

Hello, I am re-landscaping my back yard. In spring of next year, I plan to plant some of my tropicals from pots into the ground. I am going to amend my poor clay soil and get it tested in November.

I've been reading Florida's Best Fruiting Plants 2nd edition as a resource and the author suggests not fertilizing newly planted trees except for mangos. The author wrote "tender feeder roots should be given a chance to develop and extend into nearby soil." This is counterintuitive from what I've read and seen. Besides mangos, I plan to plant a variety of species.

As a rule of thumb, should I plan to lightly fertilize my newly planted tropicals in spring? Or should I be safe? Wait a month and then fertilize since my environment is different than Florida?

I’m growing this Cambuca seedling under fluorescent lighting indoors. Could use some help identifying the residue on the leaves. Is this from a bug? It kinda looks like pollen.
