Anyone have knowledge of this cultivar?   It's supposedly a red fleshed variety.

Last chance is this Sunday to get some select Philippine durian (frozen) from Lindsay Gasik-Year of the Durian.

I've heard two very favorable reports on it.   https://www.yearofthedurian.com/product/buy-durian-online

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Malaysian Durian Tour
« on: July 26, 2015, 08:07:41 PM »
Just returned from a wonderful week of eating great durians in Malaysia.  Red Prawn, Black Thorn, Musang King, D-24 and many other varieties were on the menu.  A big thank you to Lindsay Gasik for putting this on.  She may be doing it again next year, so check out her Year of The Durian website if interested.  Here we are feasting at Raub Durian Orchard.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Whitman Langsat?
« on: January 06, 2015, 10:40:12 AM »
This budwood came to Hawaii via Florida, I believe from either Richard Campbell or Steve Brady.  Not sure why it's named after Bill Whitman, most likely he brought it to Florida.  Anyone else have it?  It's now about 15 years old and is finally fruiting a bit.  The fruits are quite large, so maybe a Duku Langsat?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Rambutan: R-167 vs. Seelengkeng
« on: January 05, 2015, 08:44:50 PM »
Some recent images for comparison.  My daughter and her teenage friends were eating the R-167's like candy until I gave them some Seelengkeng, at which point they ignored the former fruits and devoured the latter.  Basically, my approach is the same.  In the trees, the 167 is the first, bright red fruit.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Sibabat Pulasan
« on: January 03, 2015, 11:15:29 PM »
When perfectly ripe these fruit are one of my very favorites.  They need to be purple, rather than red, for optimum ripeness though they are not bad when a bit green. Unfortunately, the Pulasan tends to produce many flat fruits devoid of flesh here on the Big Island.  These were harvested during a pruning rampage.
