Tropical Fruit Discussion / Blackberry problems
« on: June 17, 2021, 05:22:21 PM »
A couple years ago, I bought 5 or so plants of different blackberry varieties. Last year, they escaped their assigned area. This year, I found them growing out of the decorative bushes around the house and in a a few other random spots FAR away from where they were originally planted. If you don't see me post next year, the blackberries took over everything.

Pardon my ignorance but this is killing me - what does PPK stand for?

5
I am interested but located in NC.

6
These are exceptionally strong little cuttings. Capable of surviving even a very scary shipping fiasco.

7
I am also interested to know approx shipping cost to USA as well as how long the shipping takes.

8
Do these come up true to seed and how long do they take to fruit?

Might be peach scab. Are the spots superficial only?

That mulberry looks huge!! Congrats :)

I always love looking at pictures of other folks' harvests. Please boast to me about interesting/delicious stuff you are growing (with pictures of fruit if possible). :)

For me, this year, my peaches have the most fruit I've ever seen on them.

Got the avocado. Thank you so much!! Arrived healthy. Incredible packaging and labelling too.

Thanks for the plants and bonus seeds, Satya! They arrived all in excellent shape. It was fun to try out the miracle fruit too. :D

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Anyone growing cacao criollo here?
« on: April 15, 2021, 03:02:53 PM »
It is a superior flavored cacao plant that is supposed to make top tier quality chocolate but it is so hard to find an air layer. I have been in search for one for over a year... :/

If you or someone you know is selling a female golden kiwi (and male maybe too / I'm not sure if my green male kiwi would pollinate it), please please let me know!

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Just got my baby "1 year old" achacha!

I know you already purchased your tree, but for those looking for a deal, I have found this shipper in HI to be the best bang for your buck. https://www.store.hawaiiantropicalplants.com/Garcinia-humilis-4x4x10-tree-pot-1629.htm

$49 for a 3.5ft tree. Healthy, well-packaged and fast shipping. Shipping was about $25, I forget. Cheaper if you buy more than one. I got 2 for about $125, shipped.
Just FYI
Keith

Nice! You have to share pictures of your achachas :)

Ah. My bad for the bad photo. Its raining but I'll go out after to retake. There is no graft lines though. Graft lines are usually very obvious as the leave a bulging area.

Here's the achacha's trunk for reference, if you're interested to see it. Something doesn't line up. I wonder if it is an air layer...?
