From the Dade County Extension.
Did you get the ordered items?
I have purchased from them more than once and they have good service and the cuttings were very healthy. Maybe you should try to give them a call to find out what happened to your order. Your item may have gone out of stock when you ordered it.
Have experienced sudden death of cempedak seedlings, not as easy as jackfruit. Our cempejacks are going very well.
.if interested lemme knowPm sent
Get ready to start watching some paint dry and water boil...these things grow slowwww in the sub-tropics. I would recommend Luc’s for cold hardiness and easiness to grow. The only fruit I’ve eaten out of the Garcinia’s is Purple Mangosteen and Achacha. They were both really tasty with Achacha having a floral thing going on (like in some lychees) and purple mangosteen having a nice mellow citrusy flavor without the tart...Good luck in your search, I have some extra seedlings of seashore mangosteens in 1 gallons, and maybe a couple of other Garcinia’s laying around...if interested lemme know
I have some starters of g. brasiliensis (the superior form of lemon drop mangosteen)
Pm me if interested.
I think you'll be especially pleased with those Thai Dwarf Mulberries. One is already leafing out
As soon as they break dormancy you should start seeing fruit.
Good Luck!
Kevin
For USDA seed import permit, I just have Annona seed from Mexico. You need to have the green and yellow label on the front of the package with the permit inside with a list on inventory. Raul mails it to the USDA office on the green and yellow label (Escondido for me). USDA will then forward package to your address on the permit after inspection at no additional cost.
