Has anyone tried grafting the yellow Jamaica Cherry on the red variety or vice versa?

I don't think this is common practice since they root easily and or can bear in 6 months-2 years from seed

I had to eliminate this tree because of root suckering. This may not be a problem in some zones, climates or soils but became a big nuisance. They are somewhat frost tender. The tree, yellow fruited, was very vigorous but I expect the red/pink would have been the same.
