Caimito tree help
« on: March 19, 2021, 07:51:14 PM »
I've had this purple caimito in the ground for a year and a half. It's growing very slow and the bark is starting to crack. It doesn't seem that happy. Anyone know why the bark is doing this?

I’d have to go look at some caimitos but that doesn’t really look bad to me.

Both my green and purple are shedding their bark also. They don't appear as large as yours appear so the effect is less. My smaller green one has less bark ruptures than the larger purple which is worse. I liken it to the Guava which sheds bark. I could be wrong but so far I'm not worried about mine.
