Lychee flowering
« on: June 26, 2021, 07:09:48 PM »
This is my first year I grow lychee.
I got the plants this spring with flowers on it and now it has several fruits growing. The temperature here got really tropical and humid and will stay like this for 3 months more.
The small tree is 1 ft started to have a new flush now and Ithough is going to put new leaves.  Instead new flowers are popping out.
This is a Wai Chi, supposed to to be of small size.

How many times lychee bloom during a year?

Usually lychee only blooms once, but I have seen trees bloom multiple times--but only in the cool season.

That's why I find it weird, it's hot season. The tree is less than 1 year old.

Young layers have a lot of residual sugars built up from the layering procese and will bloom a lot. Apparently, you had the right conditions when the buds were first starting to form for them to become bloom.
