Annona potting soil
« on: August 18, 2021, 08:53:32 PM »
I'm going to pot up my PPC and am looking for soil mix recommendations.  Would the 5/1/1 mix do well for them in Florida?

Thanks

When I uppot my annnonas I use my usual peat with perlite mixed with
a little compost and a little old rabbit manure and a shovel of coffee grounds.
I usually do 4 shovels of peat for every shovel of compost and rabbit manure
and coffee grounds.

I have all my trees in the same mix and they are happy, including annonas.  My mix is about equal ratio of turface (or perlite), mulch, and peat (or the decomposed muck resulting from repotted containers)

I pretty much just buy mulch now as the rest is is recycled when repotting

After messing with Annonas for a few years I settled on Promix HP.
For convenience and consistency.

Mostly due to how finicky Cherimoyas (rootstock) get in our rainy season.

Never had a problem with Soursop, Pond apple, Mountain soursop though.
Custard apple is pretty easy too.

Giving up on sugar apple because of the rampant whitefly problem it seems to bring in
