My first Banana plant, in Sardinia land!.
« on: October 27, 2021, 12:31:02 PM »
Greetings,
this is the photo story of my first banana plant, a gift from a friend,I think it is an .. orinoco / Bluggoe like clone, born in July 2019, planted in the ground in March 2020, it blossomed in early July 2021, at..  two years old, I grow all my plants in organically, in my small experimental tropical garden.
Some bananas have variegations, one fruit in particular, is of a different color, which gives a little more blue than green ...
I think they are ready to be harvested, at the end of November, I have already tasted the fruits of my friend's plant, when they are ripe, they are really delicious !.

You did well. Genetic potential on Bluggoe is about six hands so you did it!

Hello, in the end I picked the bunch of bananas, early December, when ripe they were really good, now I'm waiting to taste the Dwarf Namwah.

You will love the Dwarf Namwah.  I've grown it for years and always await their ripening.  I've been thinking of adding Raja Puri for another dwarf banana

Thanks RodneyS, yes I read that it is very good, I planted my sucker almost a year ago, it is still small, in winter it slowed down the emission of the leaves but it did not stop, now with the arrival of good weather here it will explode again, these days I will plant either a Dwarf Brasilian (Prata anã) or a Pisang Ceylon, here in Sardinia Island, Orto1978 has a nice collection of muses.

Thanks, they were delicious, certainly better than bananas from the supermarket, even if some had a kind of hard seed in the center, and not fully formed, but I'm talking about 5/7 bananas in total ...
