I have a Guava seedling that I planted in 2019 as a 1 gal. It is from Cal-Poly Pomona's farm store/nursery. I had emailed them after buying it during one of their tropical fruit sales (for $5!) and asked about it's origin. This is what I was told, it "was a discovery by Prof emeritus, Dr. Greg Partida. Propagated by seed. Has a fragrance of strawberries, not super pink flesh."
It has not fruited yet, and has had some leaf drop each Winter and is about 3ft tall in bush form.
Can you experienced Guava masters guess if I might see some flowers (and what time of year) this coming year? How long are you waiting for fruits from your young Guavas? I am in Riverside County CA for weather reference. I'm dying to taste it. I haven't seen anyone else mention acquiring one from Cal-Poly.
