Koloc (Talisia Floresii) seeds available
« on: November 15, 2021, 01:17:38 PM »
This excellent fruit from the Mayan land unfortunately very rare and endangered these days is available only a few seeds, the size is large like a golf ball, the flesh is stone free when fully ripen and is said to be of an excellent taste fruiting in November when not much fruit, my source just told me the flavor is not similar to Guayas (Talisia Oliviformis) or Quenepa. Mamoncillo(Meliccocus bijugatus) at all he said Koloc tastes similar to a sweet pineapple is around
Seeds are 6.5 usd each
Shipping is 9 USA and 11 elsewhere
** Not responsible if taken by customs if permit is available let me know **

These are the seeds look how large they are the fruit is big

Thanks for the many orders, Kolok seeds were delayed in overnight shipping an additional day so they will arrive to me late night today, most probably I'll start shipping early next week, along with the combined Ilamas /Koloc orders due to the delay in Koloc delivery, by the way I had assumed than Talisia floressii tasted very similar like Talisia oliviformus with a mix of melon and tangerine, I asked yesterday to my source about it and he said the flavor is not similar at all, floresii (Koloc) taste more like sweet pineapple with a tangy after notes, and another flavor he can't explain, he said is of excellent taste.

Interesting article about Talisia floressii, the only thing that caught my attention is that they mention a light cream color flesh and the flesh in the ones I'm getting is a vivid orange, maybe there are two types?

I've got about 12 or so plants that germinated in a sealed tupperware with moist coco on a heat mat.  Super great germination and vigorous plants with gnarly root systems! Thanks Raul!

Thanks for sharing that natty,
Ill put them in some warm and humid spot then.
Do you use the coco for the natural hormones or the antifungal? Have you seen any difference vs like on normal cellulose tissue?

Peace

They are super easy to sprout, all I have are starting to sprout in the zip log bags with very low humed vermiculite, I also sprouted them in the past in medium drainage soil watering twice a week, they can also be put in Coco peat or coco peat the key is with very low humedity, they can be soak up for five minutes in 50/50 water /peróxido H before sprout them to prevent bacterial

Received these and some rare Ilama varietals from Raul after many difficulties, through which he was amazing-

Very happy with my order and interested to add this species to my collection!

One of the seeds even sprouted along the way

Do you know anything about the salinity tolerance of this species?
