Hello everyone,
I've realized that there has been not much conversation about the tropical spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, bay leaf, star anise, nutmeg, etc.
This thread will be used to discuss and bring light to growing different spices.
What cool ones do you have in your collection?
Which ones do you want to grow and obtain?
This is a very open thread to whatever pertains to spices.

I'll go first...
After a long long time of waiting, I was finally able to obtain some true star anise plants (Ilicium verum). When you crush the leaves, it smells just like the ones in stores.
Be careful as all of the relatives of star anise are toxic!

I finally have ginger and already growing turmeric.

I'am growing curry leaf, cinnamon, allspice, ginger, turmeric, vanilla. mastic (Pistacia lentiscus). Alpine ginger(shell ginger),
Lemon-scented tea tree ( leptospermum petersonii). Kaffir lime ( citrus hystrix ).
