There are many that I love, but if push comes to shove it will be lychee.

Yes, that is a tough choice!  As far as range of flavors and growability, mango is the obvious winner.

Monstera deliciosa; Durian; Mangosteen; Lansium parasiticum; Star apple; Mango; Annona; Rambutan; Lychee; Dragon fruit. .................Those are my favorite tropical fruits. If I have to pick only one, then Monstera deliciosa  fruit.

Also a tough choice, but would have to say that my fave is mango.

Second choice would be maracuyá (or parcha).

Like totally yum!

You are making me regret my decision to trash my monstera plant, it got too big and never flowered and I didn't think it was worth the space.  I have always wanted to try the fruit

Please excuse me, I don't mean to make you feel that way, but I understand how you feel after all those years waiting.  The chance that it produces fruit indoor is very low. Even outdoor if not have the right sunlight.  you can reduce its size by air layered and keep the mature top. If you top work it and only keep the bottom plant, then the bottom will set back to its younger age. This can take longer time for it to produce fruit. Look for someone has mature fruited plant, that they let you buy/ trade the mature top. You can ask them if they let you air layer it. Make sure know how to ID correctly the variety. Do you keep any old photo of your Monstera ?

Down the block at my local Asian market here in NYC (zone 7). They're frozen and irradiated, but still better than anything else I have tried. Personal preference, no offense to all the mango lovers here.
