Powdery. Mildew 2024 Paranoia
Greater Good:
Just finished walking the garden this morning. Can see the sulfur residue from yesterday morning spraying. Mango trees are looking good,
So are all the neighborhood mango trees. Many with spectacular heavy blooms that have not been treated with sulfur. Am I being paranoid over my 2024 experience? It would be a kick in the ass if powdery mildew didn't show up in 2025.

2025?
Calusa:
Is now the time to begin spraying to prevent PM?
roblack:
Next door neighbor has an old giant tree in full bloom. Always suffers from anthracnose. The more mango trees around, the more vectors for disease transmission.
PM is always around, waiting. (I know, sounds paranoid, right!?) Last year was unusually bad. We also dealt with lots of alternaria here, last season. Spraying may not be as needed this year, who knows. But, it should help with higher yields and nicer fruit.
Since mosquitoes do not like sulfur, and plants do, I'm feeling great about spraying, even if not needed.
MasOlas:
Out of four seedlings only my store bought Keitt/Kent (Mexican store mango) is the only one being battered by PM. I have a sack of this on the way from Amazon.
