Hi, I planted a Cara Cara orange last Fall but it seems to be struggling now - putting out a lot of buds but yellowing a lot (with some leaf drop), here in San Jose (zone 9b). I am not sure if it’s too much water (from the rains) or cold or nitrogen leach. I haven’t fertilized yet but any recommendations? At these soil temperatures I am not even sure if nutrients are absorbed properly.

I am not saying they are a scammer. My point is that in a world where there are so many scammers out there, I would like to only buy it from trusted sources who have a great reputation, especially when I am paying an exorbitant price. Imagine investing time / money and finding out 2 years later that you were conned. Who wants to go through that? The best you can do is to reduce the probability of having such an experience.
As such the seller looks sketchy and the feedback from the forum members here further confirms my suspicion. (some members may have had good experience, sure, but doesn't make up for the doubts others have raised).

Not to mention that most of the photos are from the internet. What bothers me the most is that he doesn't have a single fruit photo of their own. At this price, and not being a well known nursery, I would stay away from such seller.

I recently came across a guava from Vietnam called Queen Guava (ổi nữ hoàng) which looks very similar to Crystal Guava. Anyone know if it is the same?

I think this seller is very expensive, so I decided not to go with him, but at least he is responsive.

Horrible communication, sent me a bad plant and I am in the waiting to confirm if the plant he sent is the right one (I will have to wait till it fruits :()

So far I have had good experience with https://www.etsy.com/shop/StylabBeauty which I believe is Mimosa Nursery from LA (https://www.mimosala.com/). Great collection, still expensive, but relatively cheaper than other sources and a more reliable seller from what I have heard from this forum.

Hi,

Got a pearl guava plant and wanted to make sure if it is indeed the right variety. Any distinct characteristics of Pearl Guava that can be identified from the leaf or growth pattern? (its an air-layered plant and will be a while before it can fruit)

My favorite is Oro Blanco Grapefruit!! Sweetest grapefruit I have had. If you just eat the flesh then almost no bitterness.
