Yeah I think April 1st should get you some branches ready to use by june or july. I guess you could go for earlier, it wont hurt. Maybe february or march would also be ok. It just isnt going to want to do much until April. By May the tree will want to start pushing new growth.
I dont have a huge problem with droopy trees. Some are a bit droopy but they seem to grow out of that. Just have to prune them up and keep it off the ground. I dont use any supports for my trees. Ill post some pics. I did go out and pick a few mangos today and took some photos of the trees. You can come over and look at them if you want. Its not that far, maybe 30-40 minutes south.

It grew slowly here and has tight node spacing and the canes are really fat. It probably does better in different climates but for here the jamaica stripe seems to grow better.

Why not go for sweet tart? I have early gold and it ends up flowering at weird times and not really doing that well. It does make early fruit but they are sometimes all out of wack from other varieties. Like it's flowering right now.
Also why top the tree at 5ft? I would say chop it at 1ft in April and graft several of the new shoots when they come out. I think you will have more success doing the smaller grafts. And having them lower seems better to me. Top working trees even 2 or 3ft up has always seemed like a mistake when I have done it.

I would call it floral rather than dish soap flavor. Some people percive cilantro as dish soap flavor also and find it bad. It maybe the same kind of thing. Some people just dont like that flavor. For me, i think it makes the s8 taste good. The only thing is there no acid in the S8. Its floral and sweet but lqcking acid.

I need to wait longer for the mangos. Some are ripe but a lot are still pretty green. Cherimoyas are also late.

S8 is the best. Just my opinion. Cant beat it. Theres one called pink panther thats really similar also does great. I quit caring for my DF plants and just let them go and we only get fruit off s8. Lots of fruit with zero effort. And taste is best and the vines are hardy.

Also ditch the stake and green tape. Its choking the tree. The tree needs to hold itself up at this point. Hass and fuerte both dont need staking.
I think if you prune it hard and paint all the bark it may have a shot. Even this may not save it. At some point they just get screwed up for good and its better to replant.

Hello, once the tree gets too much sun on the bark they can go into decline and become stunted. It wont recover from this case. Its too late to try and paint it and save it from getting to this stunted point.
You wont like my advice but to save the tree, you will need to paint the bottom few feet of trunk white and then top the tree at around 2-3ft tall. Then next year it will grow out of this condition most likely.
I think the good tree is the fuerte. The leaves looks like fuerte but I am not certain on that. The fuerte has some specles on the new growth i believe.
Good luck with the tree. It was most likely not anything you did other than planting out the tree into full sun and it just didnt get its legs in time to be able to adjust to that much sun input. It happens to me too and I have lots of trees. Sometimes they just cant take the summers and get into this state despite plenty of water.

Its one of my original trees I planted after Bob from Green Jungle(RIP) gave me some fruit from his trees. I was hooked. My tree is about 15 feet high and about 10 wide. Never had any cold or frost issues while nearby longons, which are supposedly more cold hardy, froze. I have also never even had a flowering. Really flipping annoying for one of my most otherwise successful trees. My Texas plum at least blooms.
I havent gotten much fruit off sweetheart either. Thry also get lanky and break branches.

The full tree leaf strip should come right before the tree wakes up from winter. Around February or March here.
But you can continue to do it through summer to get more flowers. But this time dont strip the whole tree. Just strip back some leaves towards the inside of the tree on big branches where a good fruit will form.

The real question is who did the wiring. What size wire is is, how long is the wire and what size breaker. As long as those were done properly it should be fine.
Your fan is going slower because the voltage is lower when the heater is on because of the loss in the wire from the breaker panel to the outlet.
Certain wire gauge should be used to keep voltage drops across certain lengths to a tolerable level of 1 or 2%. Not sure exactly what the code is but you don't want more than a couple percent drop on AC runs
You could put a voltage meter in the socket and check it with the heater on. It should still be close to 120 or 240 with it running.

Those pictures look like they are from a crime scene. All you need is an outline. I, too, had a Fuyu persimmon tree that broke in half, but it was high wind that caused it and not fruit load. It never recovered so I replaced it with another tree that refuses to grow. Every year it produces ~5-6 fruit but never grows larger than 4-5 feet. I’ve tried stripping the fruit, and it still won’t grow. Honestly, I don’t know why I put up with it.
I think the weather is too hot in our area. I have some trees and they do fruit but they always look stressed when the weather is really warm. I think they need to be in a more protected area of the yard or closer to the coast.

Looks like sunburn but like I said it typically does not happen on a vertical branch. I think it would not hurt to paint it white and seal it up but also probably not going to do much either.
