That's beautiful, what variety of Mangos are those? Thanks for sharing!

Simon

Hi Simon, it's a local seed grown mango. It's very sweet, but fibrous.

Hello Gang,

Been awhile since i posted a tread here....now to redeem my self, here's a pic displaying my passion of orchids and exotic fruits!  :)

31
Oi como va be?
The leaves look like an anon the fruit doesn't. Look at the pix above of cangrejo's anon for reference it could be calostro or cangrejo's African pride either way it will be a great fruit

Olá Jf, tá tudo bem, e contigo?

Thanks for the id.

xanthochymus is a good rootstock.

33
Hi gang,

Can someone please ID this annona, i received the material as Cangrejo Anón.

Many thanks.

the flavor is ok at best...though a very unique cactaceae, with hook like thorns that secures the plant while climbing.

The best way to propagate is via cuttings...seeds take a bit until bearing size.

Hi,

My rootstocks weren't thick enough, so better than chucking them away...I have 3 pencil sized scions to trade (preferably to someone how has rootstocks to graft).

Very unique Pouteria to have in any collection...do a quick search on the forum and see the tree.

Thanks.

Hey Stuart,

Never heard of this specie before...looks tasty.

I'm not surprised that this sp is scented, as a lot of Apocynaceaes are scented.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, they are still small apparantly not ready for sale yet but its a wholesale nursery so they letting me have a few cant wait to taste it one day.

Next on my indigenous hit list is Ancylobotrys petersiana and landolphia Kirkii

That's pretty cool...good luck. :)

I reckon you should ask Botanical gardens in KwaZulu Natal, if they have or know where to locate them...that's what i would do.

Glad to hear that folks are enjoying the fruits from Rosa. :)

My grandmother Rosa is actually American, born and raised in Massachusetts.  ;)

Behl, Rosa is not from Spain...it's from Madeira, Portugal.

JF, if only you lived nearby...i have access to year old rootstocks for only $1.50.

you can propagate the grape vine by air layer...much faster.

41
Solanaceae will fruit in a matter of months depending on the sp.

42
Thank you warren! I Guess I'll order that grafting tape already! Yay!!

Osito, try to match the cambium on both (clean cuts) as much as you can and bag the plant with a leaf of two to increase humidity inside. Ask for scions with swollen buds, that haven't pushed yet.

Clay soils in general hold more nutrients than sand...

Hey Adão, the jars are going to sell quick!  ;) Jabuticaba jam is da bomb...gonna make this year again.  8)

lol thanks Jackfruitwhsper69!

I think I'm sold out already!

I will definitely make lots of jam this year....otherwise lots of my fruit will get wasted!  it's hard to eat 500 fruit all at once!

Great to hear!  8)

It's a good way to minimize wastage of fruits. :)

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Passionfruit not flowering. What to do?
« on: February 09, 2015, 04:56:29 AM »
Increase organic matter around the plant. Plant another variety for cross-pollination.

47
whicn one is better between Achacha and  Achachiru ?thanks!

the two are the same specie.

I'm not giving up on looking for cuttings for the Giant fruited S Megalanthus. Please let me know if you have any for sale or trade. I did end up acquiring some old seeds of a giant S Megalanthus from Fruit that was given to Leo Manuel but the seeds were really old and I had to use GA and even then, only 1 seed sprouted so far and it will be about 3-4 years before I can verify it is the extremely large variety similar to the one I ate in Hong Kong. Cuttings will save me a lot of time. Thanks in advance!

Simon

The Colombian variety? This var is pretty huge...super sweet too.  I got some fresh seeds.
