10-4-12 what would you use this fertilizer for?
« on: June 08, 2021, 06:33:42 PM »
Neighbor gave me this half full sack of fertilizer. Probably about 10 lb. what would you use it for? I have mangos, avocados, jackfruits, macadamia, guava, pineapple, sour sop, lychee, Barbados cherry, papayas. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Looks like hibiscus fertilizer/all purpose plant food. You have any palms? They could use it as could any type of plant that can use hibiscus fertilizer,  citrus could i believe.

Fertilizer leeches out over time and becomes less beneficial.
Most stores have a sale once a year to get rid of the old stuff.
See if you can find a date on it and if its over a year I would use it up.

Mix enough urea in it to get it to 24-4-12 and use it generally for fruit trees at around 100g/m2 or less. I wouldnt get too caught up about ways to spread it before tree flowering because its low N or looking at the forms of NPK and their relative life spans.
